Celer Soluciones sponsorship role: The II International Conference on Spanish as a Language of Translation.
Celer Soluciones sponsored the II International Conference on Spanish as a Language of Translation held in Toledo on 20 and 21 May 2004.
The event was the second staging of the original Conference at Almagro in 2002.
Taking as its theme “Las palabras del traductor” (‘The translator’s words’), the meeting drew a gathering of highly regarded professionals from the international language community: translators, lexicographers, terminologists, national and international organisations and translation firms, among others.
The Conference focused on the relationship between translation and lexicography. Over two hundred participants attended talks and presentations on a wide spectrum of subjects. Some papers took an eminently practical approach, while others offered highly stimulating new perspectives on theory. Other discussions addressed recent trends in the language sector and the application of new technologies to translation.
The Conference, an initiative of the association “El español, lengua de traducción”, provides a wide-ranging and highly functional forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of translation.
Enrique Díaz de Liaño, Managing Director of Celer Soluciones and an active Conference participant, found it a highly valuable experience; he expressed the Company’s continuing support for initiatives aimed at fostering professional cooperation.
